Hailing from the sleepy town of Randolph, Ohio, Jeremy Barnett is a Contemporary Christian artist who brings a unique style and sound to the worship scene. Likened by fans as a mix of Jeremy Camp meets Bruce Springsteen; Barnett’s raw vocals mixed with a rock/pop sound draws a wide audience not only for his unique sound, but for his unwavering message of faith and love. His musical influences include John Mellencamp, David Crowder, and Chris Daughtry; to name a few. And his love for music started at a very young age.
Ever since picking up a guitar at the age of 14, Jeremy Barnett was destined to pursue a career in music. Practicing into the wee hours of the morning, the guitar was his consummate companion for four years until moving to Nashville to pursue his musical dreams as a session guitarist.
His career has been varied, from gigs as an Elvis impersonator to composing worship music on his mother’s piano at the age of 21. He also has an extensive tour history. Opening for acts like Donnie Iris and Bad Company in the early 2000s, he has performed live at more than 1,000 shows.
Ultimately, after 20 years of touring, Barnett realized he wanted to take his musical dreams to the next level. After going through some life changes and coming out on the other side with a renewed vigor for his walk with God; Barnett combined his songwriting ability, musical gifts, and strong faith on the release of his debut single “Show Me Love”.
Produced by Narrow Path Records, the soulful song has gained solid ground and praise in the Christian community; with thousands of online shares of the single’s sneak-peak video prior to its release. Barnett’s debut album Hands Reaching will soon follow, showcasing Barnett’s unique raspy vocals and a nice mix of worship pop with a little bit of rock.
